Skyline Von Perth

Actually the way from Indonesia to the west of Australia is not so far. But since we in Raja Ampat started, we had first of Sorong to Makassar, von Makassar nach Jakarta, from Jakarta to Singapore and finally from Singapore to Perth. Almost 24 hours took the journey to Australia.
From the airport we went on Sunday morning in the city and we went in search of a place to spend the next few days. Everything seemed so different for us here and we had after nearly 10 months in Southeast Asia also again only to the Western world used. Perth on Sunday was as extinct, we saw very few people on the Stassen. That was not what we had expected from the largest city in Western Australia.
Finding a property proved initially difficult. We asked in the first hostel after and we were a dirty and down Come rooms for 80 Australian dollars (CA. 55 EUR) offered. We declined with thanks and still asked if we could leave our luggage during our further search. Unlike in Asia that was not possible, what was really strange for us. After we moved on with our heavy backpacks through the city and looked at another 4 hostels, we found finally a nice room on The Emperors Crown.
Everything is so different than in Asia, and above all everything is very expensive. A room in the guest house here costs about 5 times as much as in South East Asia. And then, however, it is usually right descending.

The next day we then first looked at Perth: Bell Tower, King’s Park, Skyline, the city center with its shopping streets… Perth has a rather motley cityscape, old and new buildings are right next to each other. Despite the above 1,6 million inhabitants, it works but not like a typical big city. The Western Australian Museum we have also visited and learned a lot about the history of Aboriginal people and their expulsion. We did not know, for example,, that the children were taken away from their parents, to integrate them into the "white" society. Most saw their families ever again. Indigenous Australians really have a very sad story.
By train we took a trip to Freemantle, a port city from Perth. We walked through the small village, entlang am Strand, the harbor and watched a few attractions such as the old prison at. In the so-called “Cappuccino-Strip”, a street with many cafes, We have of course also inserted a coffee break.
In addition, we planned our route further and rented a camper to the Southwest of Australia in the next two weeks to explore.
