On Sanur Beach

After almost exactly three years for us there was a reunion with the Indonesian island of Bali. In October 2010, we were here for two weeks on vacation and many temples had looked at us and were heaps about Balinese culture and Hinduism learn.
From Singapore we flew in 2,5h to Denpasar in the south of Bali. From there we went to the small coastal village of Sanur, the Flashbacks Guesthouse. In Sanur we had at that time also met Lina. She works here in the same hotel, in which we had spent a few days and we visited there. Lina has given us this time a little insight into her life. Every morning at 5 clock stands it on to bowl offerings to the gods prepare. The sacrifices she puts into folded palm leaves. They are mostly flowers, some rice and sweets. The offerings are then distributed in and around the house. It is sprayed holy water and prayed over each bowl offerings. The distribution of the offerings to the gods and demons make good. You can see almost everywhere in Bali offerings: at the ticket office, on the moped, im Boot, am Strand, on the Sidewalk, front doors, an Tempeln…
Lina has also shown us her home and her family, we have kennengelernet. I even got to try on traditional clothing Linas: a sarong (like a large piece of cloth, that is wrapped as a skirt), a white blouse and a cloth belt. These clothes they wear when they pray, visit their temples or have special ceremonies.
Sanur is located by the sea and along the beach, you can enjoy some good walks and watch the game of ebb and flow. Colorfully painted fishing boats lying in the sun and wait for the next morning to go to sea…
