7 weeks we were traveling in Indonesia and have still only seen a fraction of the largest island state. Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world and is distributed to more than 17,000 islands. About 6,000 of the islands are inhabited. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country, more than 200 million Muslims live here.
We have traveled to the small part of Indonesia, We experienced quite differently, but everywhere we are always very nice and friendly people meet.
Bali is marked as Hindu. This is also evident everywhere. You can see many temples and offerings small bowls and there is always a smell of incense in the air. We visited the part of Flores, was dominated Christian, you could see the churches and the graves in front of houses. Since we were more concerned with diving in Raja Ampat, we unfortunately can not undergo little of religion and culture.
In any case, however, Indonesia is a very beautiful and diverse country, with different cultures and stunning landscapes above and below water.
But for us it means for the time being farewell to Indonesia, but also from Asia. After we had almost 10 months in Southeast Asia on the go, Our journey now takes us to the next Continent, to Australia. We are really excited to see what awaits us down under as …
