Seppel Als Kuh Flüsterer

After breakfast we gathered Rutger and Amika with a Songthaew, to drive to the bus station in Luang Prabang. We were lucky and the last 4 places to get hold on the bus to Vang Vieng. Our seats were unfortunately in the last row where it rocked even the most. The journey went uphill and downhill, past high mountains and steep ravines and on potholed roads. The scenery was amazing. But after an hour we had tired of the bumpy ride. But we had to hold out a total of 6 hours. With talkin, Sing and sleep we have the drive but then somehow rumgekriegt. On board was a French family, we are already in Nan (Thailand) had seen 3 weeks ago. You are traveling for 4 months with 3 children. For them, the trip is probably much harder than us for.

When we were in the late afternoon finally arrived in Vang Vieng, we cried in our Guest House “Jammee” ,, so they pick us up from the bus terminal. We should go against our innkeeper, because otherwise he would get with the other Songtheao and tuk-tuk drivers at the bus station trouble, because he picked us up for free.

Vang Vieng is located on the Nam Song River surrounded by high cliffs, where there are many hidden caves. It is actually known as a party town, and many backpackers come here for "tubing", to drift down the river on tractor tires. Unfortunately, it also repeatedly drugs and alcohol involved, so many tourists crashed fatally. In some bars there is also "Happy Shakes" with Mariuhana, Pilzen o.ä. give. Consumption is prohibited and is subject to heavy fines. Even the locals find out the development of the small town of "Party- and drug paradise not "good. In addition to the parties, Vang Vieng is also known for its beautiful scenery, which is why we went there. Our guest house was out of the center and it was therefore very quiet there.

For dinner Amika had chosen something special, of "Café de Paris", a French restaurant. We ordered Boeuf Bourgignon (a kind of beef stew) with mashed potatoes. Hmmmm delicious!

The next day it rained almost constantly and unfortunately we have set ourselves in the cozy Guest House. It was so much of a "scruffy Sunday". In the evening we went to fourth place in order to eat something. Our last evening together with Rutger and Amika was very funny. We played cards and "Who am I?“. Funnily enough I got Seppel and assigned the same name: „Alf“. Amika has broken laughed and was about to take a photo. I did it but did not think anything. It was a very enjoyable and fun evening.

According to the weather on Monday, it should be better early and we wanted all four to “Tham Jang” Cave Run. But unfortunately it has started to rain again and that is why we could not go. Amika and Rutger are left after breakfast, They spend their last days of holiday in Malaysia. Thus, it was time for us to say goodbye to two very beloved people.

Around noon it was raining then stopped and we could walk to the cave. The cave was once used as a bunker. There is a small spring at the foot of the cave, in which you can swim well. Seppel has thrown himself into the crystal clear "flooding" and is also a piece of a 80m long cave purely swum.
