Sunset

Arriving at the beach of Lembongan, we were already expected by a local, who wanted to show us his guesthouse. As we stood outside the locked door, but he said, he would be too lazy to get the key. He asked, if we want to take the room anyway. Of course, we did not, because we could not even see. So we went all the way in the midday heat with our backpacks back to the beach. Total break from diving we bought first thing refreshing to drink and considered, on which beach we wanted to look for a room. With a small boat we went in a couple of minutes to Jungutbatu Beach, we here is a recommendation for the guesthouse Bunga Bungalo had received. There was also a room available for us. The guest house with restaurant was completely decorated with shells in all sizes: a giant clam as a sink, Mussels as a doorknob, Mussels in the bathtub ...
The view from the island onto the turquoise sea with the colorful fishing boats lying in it was beautiful. In the background you could see the Gunung Agung volcano on Bali, but often hung clouds before.
With the sound of waves in the ear and the Manta your images from diving in head was a very exciting day for us to end. The night's sleep was disturbed only some of the mice, apparently organized the race on our roof.

At breakfast the next morning we watched the huge waves, the beat against the fortification wall on the beach, so that the water splash up really high and the people passing by were usually pretty wet. In the afternoon we walked along the coast, past various small beaches. In between, we have observed surfer, who practiced in Surfing. The path was above the coast and you could well recognize the seaweed in the water gardens. At low tide you can watch the locals while planting seagrass. The majority of the locals on the island of Lembongan lives on seaweed cultivation. You pick the seaweed plants on the banks to then in their gardens to plant. The harvest is laid out to dry later. First, the seaweed is green, then it is purple and when it is completely dry, it looks almost white.

One night there was even a very small earthquake. I was already in bed and Dopey was still sitting with the laptop in restaurant, wobbled when suddenly our wooden door. I thought it was from the waves, hit the shore. But as Dopey came back he told, that one of the employees told him, whether he has also just noticed the earthquake.

To explore the Lembongan Island closer, we rented a moped. We started our tour in the north of the island with a visit to the mangrove forest. With a small boat through the mangroves we were geschippert. Then we drove up to a narrow bridge, which led to the neighboring island Ceningan. In the bay between Lembongan and Ceningan there are many seaweed gardens. The seaweed is used predominantly for the Asian cosmetics industry. Ceningan is still naturally, encountered few tourists. A small road led us around the island, past scattered houses, Beaches and bays. From a vantage point at Secret Point Beach we could see huge waves. At the Blue Lagoon you can even jump off a cliff, but because of the dangerous surf and the wind, the platform was closed. The waves slamming against the rocky coast and sea spray splashed meters high. The views from here to the coast and the blue sea was beautiful.
On the way back we visited the unique underground house on Lembongan. The house was built within 15 years of a man with only a hammer and chisel under the earth. It looks like a maze of corridors and rooms, There is a bedroom, Dining room, Cooking, Bad, a fountain and even a meditation room. Finally, there was the Dream Beach and Devil's Tear. Again, again we had a great view of the high waves and surf.
