Kuang Si waterfall act

Today at noon we went back to Luang Prabang. After some negotiations with Mang (die „Schlitznase“ – ist ein Insiderwitz 😉 Danke Rutger!) from our Guest House we are with him, our Dutch friends and other travelers in the minibus drove with a broken air conditioner to Luang Prabang. On the trip we had Mang lot about yourself, the country and the culture of Laos told. Gone went to fields, Forests and mountains until we reached Luang Prabang.

For the evening we had an appointment with Britney, who was just in Luang Prabang. Together with her, Amika and Rutger we ate at a pizza delicious wood oven pizza.

For breakfast the next morning we had an appointment with Britney, which we adopted then towards Nong Khiaw. But we'll definitely see again soon. On the way back from the coffee shop around the city, we met again by chance and Rutger Amika. Seppel and I had planned to go to the "fact Kuang Si" waterfall, Britney since it gushed. All tuk tuk drivers call one in passing constantly "Tuk Tuk Waterfall?"To. Without hesitation wanted to come Amika and Ruger, to meet so that we each brought our bathing suits quickly to us then for the common Songtheao ride again. We have negotiated with the driver a good price and then went along with three Swiss guys to the waterfall. At the entrance there were some food stalls and we have for a picnic at the waterfall with fried rice with vegetables, Chicken and papaya salad supplies.

Indeed, Kuang Si waterfall is beautiful: The water runs gradually over limestone formations. In three of the five stages can swim in the turquoise-colored water. There was also a rope (a kind of liana above water), with which Rutger and Seppel have swung into the water. Invigorated and refreshed beautiful we are again in the afternoon, the 30 km ride back to Luang Prabang.

In the evening we were in the restaurant “Tamarind” eat, it was the best Laotian food (unlike Thailand, it is not as flavorful). Amika and Rutger had signed up for the next day here for a cooking course. Seppel and I originally wanted to go on the next day after Vang Vieng. But since the food here has tasted so good, we demand spontaneously, whether we still can participate in cooking class. They had two more spots left. After we were able to stay even one more night in our guest house, the cooking course nothing stood in the way.

There have Amika and Rutger looked not bad, The next day when we suddenly stood before them in cooking class. Declared after the reception by our chef, we drove to the local market and got the different ingredients. Then we went to a garden outside the city, where the cooking class held. We cooked every one dip for sticky rice, Fish in banana leaf, Chicken with lemon grass and Laab (Beef with many different herbs and spices). For dessert, there was purple "sticky rice" cooked in coconut milk and garnished with fresh fruit. 13 people attended the cooking class, e.g. a German family with 2 children (5 and 8 years), traveling around the world for 1 year (www.4reisen.net). From them we have still got a few good tips for guest houses and even their Cambodia Guide, they no longer needed.

Speaking Guide: A guide for Laos we had in Chiang Mai (Thailand) searched almost in vain. But "under the counter" there was in the last bookstore (We were previously at least in 7) illegal copies of “Lonely Planet” Laos Guide . Looks almost like the original, even with colored sides ;-), but costs less than half.

Slowly they said goodbye to the nice and cozy town on the Mekong. At the conclusion of our visit, it was still a game to the night market and then we fell into bed tired.
