On The Way To Lake Tekapo

When we landed in Christchurch, It rained here in buckets, just as when we arrived in Auckland. John of the CampaSouth Rent a car picked us up at the airport and after we had completed all formalities for the Campermietung, we could start exploring the South Island.
But before we really got started, we had to provide us with food, of course,. For the first time we saw in the supermarket chocolate Santas. Otherwise, it is decorated for Christmas and hardly there is no mulled wine or gingerbread. The New Zealanders do not seem to be in the Christmas stress. Also, we are not at all been with predominantly summer weather in the Christmas mood. Although, at night it had cooled to a few degrees. We stayed 2 hours away from Christchurch in the small town of Geraldine and it was pretty cold. Luckily we had a small fan heater there and yet a little bit of winter mood came on with us. The next morning we woke up at a blue sky and bright sunshine on. Our destination was the Lake Tekapo, a turquoise glacial lake surrounded by mountains.
